The Good News
Jesus died for you. Because God loved His creation, He sent His Son to live a perfect life, and die on the cross, thus taking the penalty for our moral failures. Here’s the good news. Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus, defeated death so that we don’t have to. Now, we can live in the power of Christ, free from the weight of our past. Now, we invite everyone who follows Christ in York to join together.
Our Vision
We yearn for strength, and for the Church to thrive. York Christian has initiatives to provide structure so that the body of Christ can work effectively together. (In North York & York Region)
An Open Letter to Christians at York
Hello! I am Danny Small, a student at York University. I was excited to see so many Christian clubs in York when I arrived. But, like many, I discovered that we had no large body or network to gather as Christians. I'm a youth leader in my church, and I've gone to at least five other churches in my town. Although we can have serious doctrinal differences and splits within our home churches, we are still family.
As York Christians, we should collaborate. We are the body of Christ, and we are held together in love. As Jesus said, "By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another" John 13:35
So, join us as clubs, study groups, organizations, and churches gather together as the Church.
We are strong only when we are UNITED in CHRIST.
Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united with the same understanding and the same conviction. For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers and sisters, by members of Chloe’s people, that there is rivalry among you. (1 Corinthians 1:10-11).
If there is therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vain- glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (Philippians 2:1-3)
For we also have received the good news just as they did. But the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith. For we who have believed enter the rest, in keeping with what he has said, (Hebrews 4:2-3)
